Rare ASMR Trigger Types
The following videos show some of the very rarest forms of ASMR on Instagram--maybe someday these forms will be more mainstream, but for now these are not well-known. Think of them as underground/indie ASMR! LOL!
Very light typing on a chiclet keyboard |
Pressing/crushing charcoal (nicely gritty, stronger than kinetic sand) |
Scratching fluffy carpet |
Scratching felt-like fabric |
Popping bubble wrap (this is at once the oldest-school ASMR and the newest trigger I've seen on Instagram) |
Crinkling and crackling plastic shrink wrap |
Crinkling waxed paper wrapping (plus great soap tapping) |
Clinking and scratching metallic jewelry |
Tracing and scratching on metal (light soft sound) |
Tapping and scratching directly on a headphone mic (amazing) |
Fast tapping on fingernails |
Breaking and crushing old makeup (softer sounds than you might expect!) |
Whispering, tapping on plastic, dry soap petals (great multi-trigger video) |
Tapping on cardboard and metal, tracing letters |
Clicking adjustible plastic straw (really neat hollow sounds) |
Simulated head scratch #1--use headphones! |
Simulated head scratch #2--use headphones! |
Slicing silicone |
Slicing a rubber eraser |
Applying foil to some mandala art (the foil peeling off is where it's at) |
Crushing cleaned eggshells |
Playing with one of those pin toys (can't think of the name, LOL!) |
Breaking apart staple rows |
Turning pages in a book |
Slicing and crushing stiff Styrofoam (LOUD) |
Slicing a cylinder of softer Styrofoam (lighter sounds) |
"Ear eating" (lots of very close mouth sounds) |
Brushing wet curly hair so that it straightens for a bit |
Foil crinkling |
Brushing a raw crystal piece with a soapy toothbrush (kinda smooth, kinda scratchy) |
Smoothing hand across sleek fabric |
Munching Hula Hoop chips |
Clinking pills around in a plastic bottle |
Freshly mixed automotive paint slowly swirling in the can |
Crinkling soft plastic lollipop wrapper |
Scooping ice cream |

Snipping grass blades (soft sounds) |
Squishing a balloon full of little balls through netting (weird but cool, lol) |
Crumbling fortune cookies by hand and with mortar and pestle |
Cutting pumice stone |
Removing sticky sign letters from glass (slow-mo) |
Playing with/squishing a sticky plastic bubble |
Playing with/crunching White-Out tape |
Making spinach noodles (noise, sped up film--watch on mute) |

Slowly ripping paper |
